Many women will swear that the first pregnancy trimester is the most difficult part of pregnancy. After the first rush of excitement passes, you suddenly realize that this is a big change in your daily life. For those that are going through it for the first time, the surprise is quite sobering. It’s important to be kind to yourself during this time. Make a list of things you are looking forward to in your pregnancy. Try different medicines for morning sickness, as some may work better for your than others.

Key Takeaways:

  • If you’re less patient than usual, just remember that it’s not you, it’s the hormones. Give yourself some grace and know it’s going to get better.
  • When you’re nauseated, you tend to hold a lot of tension (if you’re like me). And if you’re too miserable to sleep well, that only makes it worse.
  • Generally, your body will let you know when and how much you need to eat. Don’t worry about things like calorie counts or how much weight you gain.
